Andreas Kowalewski is a designer, born in Berlin and based in Hamburg. After finishing his cabinetmaker apprenticeship, he studied at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen/ Germany and graduated with a master’s degree in industrial design. His interdisciplinary design studio collaborates with several internationally renowned brands such as Ligne Roset, Philips, Normann Copenhagen, Audi and Miyazaki. His Studio’s work encompasses a broad spectrum of design, working within the fields of product, furniture, consumer electronics, lighting, identity and strategic design. Over the course of his long-term partnerships and experience with various other companies and design brands, he has developed an in-depth knowledge of the industry. His passion for transforming objects into unique tactile product experiences drives everything he does. His design creations have been awarded with numerous design prizes, such as the recent German Design Award in Gold or IF Design Award 2018 and have been presented at various exhibitions fairs and museums such as the Stedelijk or Marta.
Robin Scholtysik was born in 1991 in Düsseldorf. After his first work experience as a carpenter, he studied at the Academy of Design and in parallel at the master carpenter’s school in Münster. He graduated in 2017 as a designer and master in carpentry.During his design studies he focused on the field of furniture and developed his passion for experimenting with materials and different manufacturing processes. He currently works at a design studio in Münster specialised in interior design. His designs are based on the daily life and to the needs of users. Inspiration comes from life itself – even small observations and human gestures can give impulses for something new. Especially the graphic and pure aesthetics, which is influenced by the beauty of the materials, are recurring themes of his work.
